
LUMBERTON — Purple Door is holding registration for “HOP INTO WONDERLAND,” a special Spring Theatre Camp for all young talents, 7-13. Participants are expected to learn the basics of theater and acting and develop their own self-confidence while rehearsing a production. According to an announcement on the community theater’s social media page, the workshop will run during the last two weeks of March and finish with “WONDERLAND,” a new play based on the classic novel “Alice In Wonderland,” which will showcase each student. Class sessions/rehearsals will be 5-7 p.m. run each Tuesday and Friday and 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.
Workshop Structure:
March 14, 5-7 p.m.: First class session with play read through.
March 15 and 22, 1-3 p.m.
March 18, 21, 25, 27, 5-7 p.m.
Class Sessions (interspersed with rehearsals)
-Audition preparation
-How to pick a song for yourself
-Reading skills and comprehension
-Acting/stage basics and increase self confidence
“WONDERLAND” Performance (45 minutes):
