Intel hasn’t announced anything yet, but it appears that its Unison app is “a non-core” asset and will be killed off.
“Intel Unison will soon be discontinued. The first step in its wind-down process is ending service for most platforms at the end of June 2025,” the Microsoft Store listing for the Unison app notes.

“Intel Unison will be discontinued effective June 30, 2025. After this date, the service will no longer be available,” HP writes in an update about the app on its website .
Intel announced Unison in late 2022 as a more universal alternative to Microsoft’s Phone Link solution, one that worked with iPhones in addition to Android smartphones. (Phone Link has since (re)added iPhone support.) I’ve seen it on numerous Lenovo and HP laptops in the years since then. Most recently, it was updated into a more seamless experience exclusive to Lenovo’s “Aura Edition” laptops as Smart Share. (I first wrote about this and the other Aura Edition exclusives in my Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i 15 Aura Edition review last November.)
Will this change impact the Lenovo Aura Edition laptops and Smart Share? Apparently, yes.
“Lenovo Aura platforms will retain [the Unison] service through 2025,” the Microsoft Store list also claims.
As Neowin points out, there are similar warnings about the June 2025 EOL (end of life) for Unison on the app’s listings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The only one involved with Unison that hasn’t spoken up about the change, go figure, is Intel. Its Unison page is alive and well and offers no hint that it’s all about to come crashing down.
