
Tuesday was a big day for Framework: It announced a new 12-inch laptop, a 13-inch AMD Ryzen AI laptop, and a desktop PC.
The three new PCs were announced during Framework’s [2nd Gen] event. You can view a recording of the live event if you want to get caught up. But here’s what’s new.

Framework Laptop 13 with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series. Now available for pre-order with the first shipments in April, this new version of the Framework Laptop 13 features the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors, Wi-Fi 7, a revamped thermal system, a next-generation keyboard, and new Bezel and Expansion Card color options. And customers with existing Framework Laptop 13s can purchase new modules to upgrade to this specification, as well. There are Ryzen 5, 7, and 9 HX 370 options available, plus DDR5-5600 RAM upgradeable to 96 GB and a single M.2 2280 storage slot with a support for up to 8 TB of storage. And yes, the upgraded keyboard includes a Copilot key. Sorry. Prices start at $899 for a DIY edition or $1099 and up for pre-built configurations.
Framework Laptop 12. This 12-inch laptop won’t ship until mid-2025, with pre-orders starting in April. But the Framework Laptop 12 features a two-tone look in five bold color schemes, 13th Gen Intel Core processors, up to 48 GB of RAM, 2 TB of NVMe SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6E. and a 1920 x 1200 display. No word yet on pricing.
Framework Desktop. Framework’s first desktop PC is available for pre-order now, with the first orders shipping in Q3. It’s 4.5L Mini-ITX desktop form factor PC with AMD Ryzen AI Max processors, Radeon 8060S graphics, up to 128 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 16 TB of storage, Wi-Fi 7, and tons of expansion. It starts at $1099 for an 8-core Ryzen AI Max 385 configuration with 32 GB of RAM, and a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 configuration with 128 GB of memory starts at just $1999.
