Adobe is launching today a new Photoshop app on iPhone that provides access to core editing features for free. Photoshop desktop subscribers will get access to premium features in this new iPhone app, but Adobe is also launching a new Photoshop Mobile & Web plan that unlocks premium mobile features plus access to the Photoshop web app.
You may remember that Adobe previously launched a free Photoshop Express app on iOS and Android, but it was an entry-level editing app with some features also locked behind a premium subscription. With this new Photoshop iPhone app, Adobe aims to bring the “magic” of the desktop app to mobile devices.

“Photoshop on iPhone opens a new category of mobile creativity — one with complete creative control and unlimited ability to create exactly what you want, without having to switch between different apps,” the company said today. “Free, powerful layering and editing tools are all in one place, enabling you to make precise edits, showcase your unique style and bring any idea to life without compromising on precision or resolution.”
Adobe Photoshop on iPhone will offer precise selection tools and many other features for free. That includes unlimited layers and masks, the Tap Select tool and Spot Healing Brush, and AI-powered features such as Generative Fill and Generative Expand. Users will also be able to edit Adobe Lightroom photos in Photoshop on iPhone and access a large library of free Adobe Stock assets.
The premium mobile capabilities accessible with the new Photoshop Mobile & Web plan ($7.99/month or $69.99/year) include the more precise Object Select and Magic Wand tools, Advanced Blend Modes, and Content-Aware Fill. Subscribers will also get access to more than 20,000 fonts (or they can import their own) plus various print quality and compression possibilities.
Photoshop on the web, which is included with the new premium plan will allow iPhone users to access power-user features such as Camera RAW filter, shapes, layer effects, and Quick Actions. The subscription also unlocks new generative AI features on the web including Generate Similar, Reference Image, and more. The web app also supports live co-editing, currently available via a waitlist.
